If you are a LGBTQ writer living in Oregon, submit up to 20 double-spaced pages of writing in any and all forms. We no longer define writing the way the market does. We define writing on our own terms. By and through the body. Yes, LGBTQ includes non-gender binary, queer, and intersex folks. In fact, maybe you should be defining your own sexuality for a change. We're listening with our whole bodies. We'll shout your story to the world.
We are particularly interested in writing that amplifies the lives and bodies of LGBTQ people. Your truths. Your questions. We are fond of writing that agitates or shakes loose the status quo. We are particularly interested in writing that wakes people up. We are particularly not interested in writing meant to entertain, lull someone to sleep, or escape.
Deadline for submission is November 1, 2017. Grant recipient will be notified by December 25, 2017. Grant recipient will be selected by the Corporeal Voices Foundation Editorial Board.
Students enrolled in academic programs are not eligible for this grant; this grant is dedicated to the labor of writing outside of academia.
Employees, volunteers and contractors of Corporeal Writing are not eligible for this grant. But we love you. Hard core.
